Austin, Texas has developed progressive policies and actions to tackle climate change.

The municipal power company, Austin Power, has a number of clean energy and efficiency programs, including a green building and plug-in hybrid program.

The Austin City Hall is a LEED-certified Green Building which has a canopy covered with solar cells.
