The new Melbourne convention centre currently under construction has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star rating for its innovative environmental design using the Green Star - Convention Centre PILOT rating tool developed by the "The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). A 6 Star Green Star certification demonstrates world leadership in sustainable building design and is a new global standard for Convention Centre design.
