Blackburn Lake Sustainable Living Centre is a community group project establish a leading edge, not for profit "Sustainable Living Centre" that will be a regional focal point for sustainable living education in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs.
The project is based around the public acquisition of some rare "Valley Heathy Forest" bushland that forms a vital part of the fragile Blackburn Lake/Gardiners's creek eco-system.
Existing buildings on the bushland site will be adapted so that the centre brings business, community and government together to accelerate the take up of environmentally friendly practices.
